What we haul

You can use us for material alone. If you need a few loads of chert for a farm road, fill dirt for a low spot in the yard, or gravel for the parking area at your shop, you do not have to hire us for a full job to get a truck to your place.

We can also haul off what you do not want, such as spoil from a pad cut, extra dirt or leftover material from a job. Tell us what it is, because that decides where it can go.

Common loads

  • Chert for driveways and farm roads
  • Gravel for driveways, parking and drainage
  • Fill dirt for pads and low spots
  • Haul off of spoil and unwanted material
  • Loads for a job another crew is working
  • Material for our own driveway and pad jobs

Figuring what you need

Material gets sold by the ton or the yard, and it is easy to guess wrong. Give us the length, width and depth of the area and what you are trying to do, and we will help you figure how many loads it takes. Better to have the conversation before the truck shows up than to end up with a pile in the wrong spot.

Also think about where the truck will dump. A loaded dump truck is heavy and needs firm ground and overhead room to raise the bed. Soft yards, low wires, septic fields and tight turns are all worth mentioning when you call. If you need the material spread and shaped rather than dropped, ask, and we can quote that as part of a driveway or pad job.

What moves the price

We quote every job on its own. These make the biggest difference.

Haul distance

How far the truck runs from the source to your place is part of every load.

Material type

Chert, gravel and fill dirt are all priced differently, and availability moves around.

How many loads

More loads on one trip out is usually a better deal than one load at a time.

Getting in and dumping

Soft ground, low wires and tight gates can limit where a loaded truck can go.

Material Hauling questions

How much does a load of chert or gravel cost?

It depends on the material, the quantity and how far the truck has to run, and those change. Call or text (256) 735-3214 with your address and what you need for a current price.

What is the difference between chert and gravel?

Chert has fine material in it that packs down hard, so it is good for bases and country roads. Clean gravel drains better but does not lock together as tightly. Our driveway page goes into more detail.

Can you deliver just one load?

Ask us. It depends on where you are and how the trucks are running that week.

Will you spread it for me?

A dump truck can spread some as it unloads. If you need it shaped and finished, we can quote that as part of a driveway or pad job.

Can you haul off dirt and debris?

We can haul off material from your job. Tell us what it is, because that decides where it can go.

How do I figure how much I need?

Length times width times depth gives you cubic yards. Send us those numbers and what the material is for, and we will help you turn that into loads.
